I think 1984 is the more prescient not BNW...perhaps however a blend will be most accurate.

Yes, the hell of a world we're heading into is a combination of 1984, which is predominant at present, mixed in with bits of Brave New World, which will emerge more as time goes by.
The point-of-view from which the two books are written is vastly different though. Orwell is describing a world he despises and wants to avoid whereas Huxley seems to be relishing in the evil of the world he's describing.
