To Orwell Today,
I'm doing research for an English project which connects 1984 to the prior and ongoing current gas/energy situation and the use of the money towards the government's goals of control.
We are working in groups in which we come up with a main topic - which is then broken into 3 interrelated, yet different topics, and then all coming to a head with a main point/issue/resolve.
The group I'm in is comparing where gas comes from, the companies that contribute to it, and how they are using the money from this for furthering the control of the masses in a sort of 1984 regimen. Any documentation you have that is in any way related to this would be greatly appreciated.
I sincerely thank you for your time and your website. You should start your own grassroots movement!
Thank you again, and I hope to hear from you soon.
You don't seem to have put any of your own effort into the "1984" assignment and I get the impression you haven't read the book or my website before asking your question. For that reason I am not interested in engaging in conversation on the topic.
All the best,
To Orwell Today,
Quite pompous of you to even assume anything about me! Yes, I have read 1984 three times, once a year since I first became emulated with Orwell in reading his Animal Farm my sophmore year of high school. And yes again I have read extensively on your website since my accidental discovery of it. I'm so sorry to insult you that I don't spend endless hours on a computer, which is, by the way, another way for 'them' to monitor and manipulate what we see and hear on the media machine. I could continue by saying that I'm angry with you, but my feelings are more along the lines of yet another disappointment in my fellow human being. Humans (at least those of the westernized/modernized persuasion) never cease to disgust me, but no worries the end is inevitable and don't worry honey, you won't be spared. Happy travels.
Your vicious response to my doubting of your "1984" integrity is proof that I was correct in my assumptions.
