To Orwell Today,
re: ORWELL'S BURMESE DAYS

Hello,

I'm working on a series of TV-documentaries on extraordinary books & writers of the 20th century and right now we're in preproduction for the episode which will be on "Burmese Days" by George Orwell.

Which led me to your website Orwell Today.

Somewhere on that site I read that Burmese Days was one of Jackie Jura's favorite books. I don't know who Jackie Jura is, but I'm always interested to interview someone who has read and loved Burmese Days...and if possible who sees the importance of that book/era in G.Orwell's life & work.

I have a feeling that Jackie Jura is American? Which would make an interview harder, since we're not going to America. If she is not, please contact me. If she is, does she know any English fans of the book or knowledgeable people...?

Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks already.

Warmest regards,
Hendrik

Greetings Hendrik,

Jackie Jura, who I am, is the owner and author of the ORWELL TODAY website and yes, I loved BURMESE DAYS as explained in that section of the website, where mine and other articles are listed. See ORWELL'S BURMESE DAYS

Your feeling that I'm American is correct - as in NORTH American - but specifically from Canada - the top half of the continent.

Off-hand I can't think of any BURMESE DAYS aficionados in England for you to interview. But I'll share your email with ORWELL TODAY readers in hopes of discovering one.

All the best,
Jackie Jura

To Orwell Today,

Thank you.
