To Orwell Today,

I just read your response to a letter protesting your associating George Orwell with Henry Ford and Charles Lindberg. Wow, really...

WOW. It's been a while sense I've read anything quite as ignorant, bigoted, anti-semitic, and factually incorrect as your article. It's not a question of my opinion versus yours. Your article is littered, just absolutely filled with falsehoods and lies. It's shocking to me that the weight of your own ignorance and rabid anti-semitism hasn't crushed your body. I can only speculate at what tragic event in your private life so filled you with bile and hatred.

Thanks for the read though. I've been feeling really overloaded with work and such. Your article made me realize how lucky I am not to be a paranoid freak like yourself. I really do feel great now. I think I'll have a beer and relax. Maybe you can throw on The Triumph of the Will or The Eternal Jew, don your brown shirt, and enjoy a nice German Lager.

Best Regards,

Greetings Ben,

You say my Ford-Lindbergh-Orwell-Hitler article is ABSOLUTELY FILLED with falsehoods and lies but you don't give even ONE example.

But actually your reaction itself is an example of what Ford, Lindbergh and Orwell experienced over their speeches and writings about Jews, War and Hitler. They were accused of being "ignorant, bigoted and anti-semitic".

And yet Ford, Lindbergh and Orwell are considered three of the greatest minds of the 20th century. Or do you disagree with that?

Get back to me with specifics of lies in the article please. I'm sure "Orwell Today" readers are curious to hear your proof, if you have any, which I'd bet you don't.

All the best,
Jackie Jura

PS - In the early 70s I lived and worked in Stuttgart, Germany for USAREUR (United States Army in Europe) for a couple of years (their shirts weren't brown). There I acquired a taste for German beer and Oktoberfest songs like "Ein Prosit, ein Prosit" and I'll drink to that anytime.

PPS - I've never seen the German classic TRIUMPH OF THE WILL but would like to. Is it available on VHS or DVD?

PPS - One tragic event that happened in my private life is I read "1984" and realized that everything Orwell said in it is happening. But this didn't fill me with "bile and hatred" as you venomously accuse. On the contrary, it inspired the creation of this website, "Orwell Today" which is a labour of love.
