To Orwell Today,

Dear Jackie,

I am presently writing my masters and came across Peter Cordwell's poem DOWN THE MINE

I was hoping to use this in part of my thesis to assist in describing one of the themes that has emerged from my data.

I was wondering if you could help by either forwarding my email to Peter and asking him to contact me or by giving me his email address. I am very keen to have referenced his work properly for it to be used in my thesis.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks in anticipation :)

Greetings Lucy,

Yes, I'll forward your email to Peter Cordwell and no doubt he'll be in touch with you.

All the best on your thesis,
Jackie Jura

To Orwell Today,

Thank you so much,
Lucy

To Orwell Today,

Hi Jackie,

Great to hear from you. We have just returned from New York, where "One Georgie Orwell" played at a small theatre on Lower East Side. People seemed to love the show although attendances were hit by Americans' madness for Halloween, which lasted all week!

"Down The Mine" developed into "400 Yards Down" with help from singer-songwriter Carl Picton. I will contact Lucy direct, and copy you in.

I will visit the site again to see how you are getting on. Keep up the good fight!

Best wishes,
Peter
