Looks like another monstrosity is going to blight the historical landscape of beautifull Dorset. This time with the help of BIG BROTHER a solar pyramid is scheduled for Poole. Pictures can be viewed online and further details on BBC site.

Dorset unveils new landmark plan. BBC, Dec 10, 2007 (Plans for a giant 147ft (45m) high sundial-style landmark in Dorset have gone on show to the public. Poole council is considering the "solar pyramid" as a tourist attraction for the town. The structure - twice the size of Tyneside's Angel of the North - should have been built in Derbyshire but the designers decided to switch location. The council will unveil details and answer questions on the proposal at a public meeting on Monday night. The scheme has already sparked heated debate in Poole with some calling it a waste of money while others have hailed it the "Angel of the North for the south coast".)

That's quite strange about the Poole pyramid, especially in these Orwellian days of "1984" where the four main structures of BIG BROTHER were gigantic pyramids that dwarfed the surrounding architecture and where the structure of society was a hierarchical pyramid:

PS - If the Poole pyramid is to be twice the size of the "Angel of the North" it really will be seen from miles away.
