HOPE LIES IN THE PROLES
To Orwell Today,
dear jackie
i have read 1984 today. it was a verry unpleasant day i can tell (i am sorry for my poor english. i hope you can understand what i am writing). it frightend me!!! and i know stuff like that is happening now at this time around us in this world. i also know i am programmed by school newspapers and so on.....and i am trying to see what is really happening. and i am searching for things to stop the global hell unfolding among us.
what i really want to say is that i really like you to also provide information to stop this brotherhood and don't just spread the terror they are doing to this world. try to find solutions for this problem. don't just spread the horrible terror that only frightens people.

keep on the good work
Greetings Pjotr,
It's great that you've felt the impact of Orwell's powerful message and are looking for ways to stop the Brotherhood from setting up Big Brother.
Orwell said that the only solution was that the people had to rebel. But before they could rebel they had to become conscious. And some of them wouldn't become conscious until after they rebelled. So as you can see, it's not an easy solution. My role in all of this is to work on the first stage of the solution, ie raising people's consciousness, just as Orwell raised mine, and obviously yours.
"If there was hope, it must lie in the proles because only there,
in those swarming disregarded masses, 85 percent of the population of Oceania,
could the force to destroy the Party ever be generated...
The proles, if only they could somehow become conscious of their own strength,
would have no need to conspire.
They needed only to rise up and shake themselves
like a horse shaking off flies...
Surely sooner or later it must occur to them to do it?"
~ George Orwell aka Winston Smith
