DEALEY "X" MARKS JFK SPOT

To Orwell Today,
re: JFK DEALEY PLAZA PHOTOS

Dear Jackie,

I am an Italian writer and I'm working on a book about JFK. I would like to ask you if I can publish in my book the Dealey Plaza photos you posted on your website, mentioning of course the source. Please let me know!

Great work however! Looking forward to hearing from you.

God bless you,
Lorenzo Gabanizza

PS: If the photos are copyrighted please let me know to whom I should ask for permission. Or at least, can you ask Mr Michael if I can use his photos for my book or give me his e-mail address, so that I will ask personally? Please let me hear soon. Thank you!

PPS: One question: On Elm Street are there today on the asphalt some marks where the limo gets hit?

Greetings Lorenzo,

Yes, as far as I'm concerned, you can put those Dealey Plaza photos in your book if you cite my website as the source and Michael as the photographer. Also, I'll forward your question to Michael and perhaps he'll get back to you with his answer.

All the best,
Jackie Jura

PS - Yes, there is a permanent white "X" on Elm Street that marks the spot where JFK received the fatal shot.

Grassy Knoll

In Michael's JFK DEALEY PLAZA PHOTO above I've traced over the white "X" in black to make it stand out more.

Below are two drawings that give a good idea of where on Elm Street the fatal shot occurred. The first is from the 1966 book INQUEST, by Edward Jay Epstein and the second is the LAY OF THE LAND link off the DEALY PLAZA webpage.

Dealey Elm Fatal
"A frame-by-frame analysis of the Zapruder film shows three distinct moments of reaction:
frame #225 (President Kennedy raises his hands to his throat);
frame #235 (Governor Connally slumps forward); and
frame #313 (bullet strikes the President's head)"

Dealey Elm Sketch
Note in the above sketch that Altgens (located beside Hill, The Lady in Red),
is the Associated Press photographer who took the photo showing
JFK reaching for his throat and Oswald standing in the TSBD doorway.

Dear Jackie,

Thank you very much for your answer. Of course I will mention your website. To see the photo with the white cross really gives me goose pimples.

Thank you. And may God bless you,
