SUNNY SONG TO JFK
To Orwell Today,
November 22, 1963 was a time of great social upheaval....Songs in the charts included Peter, Paul and Mary's cover of a Dylan song Blowing in the Wind. Stevie Wonder wrote tribute song to memmory of JFK entitled Sunny. Dylan began writing Times They are a Changing and best selling album of protest, Freewheelin....Shortly after JFK suspected assassin was killed by Ruby and all hell broke loose.

Hi Raymond,
I didn't know the song "Sunny" was a tribute to JFK but I checked it out at OLDIES and you're right as usual on your song-lore. It was written in 1963 by Bobby Hebb -- a one-hit wonder for him -- and later sung by Stevie Wonder.
Just reading the word "Sunny" brings the song to mind and reading the words in their entirety is a nice little flashback in time and they do inspire memories of JFK:
Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain
Sunny, you smiled at me and then it eased my pain
Now the dark days are gone and bright days are here
My Sunny once shined so sincere, Sunny once so true
I love you, I love you
Sunny thank you for the sunshine you gave to me
Sunny thank you for the love you brought my way
You gave to me your all and all
And now I feel that I'm 10 feet tall
Sunny once so true, I love you
Sunny thank you for the truth that you let me see
Sunny thank you for the facts from A to Z
Somehow I was torn like a wind blown sail
Then our love was borned when you held my hand
Sunny once so true, I love you
Sunny thank you for the sunshine you gave to me
Sunny thank you for the love you brought my way
You gave to me your all and all
And now I feel that I'm 10 feet tall
Sunny once so true, I love you
All the best,
Jackie Jura
PS - I found a version on YouTube -- listen SONNY, sung by Stevie Wonder
