To Orwell Today,
re: JOURNEY TO ORWELL'S JURA & VISITING ORWELL'S BARNHILL

Jackie,

I read with interest your essay on a visit to the isle of Jura and the cottage where Orwell composed 1984. I was interested in information about taking the same journey and how receptive the current owners would be to visitors but your link didn't really go anywhere. Do you have any of those details?

Thanks,
Phil Gibbons

Greetings Phil,

So glad my PILGRIMAGE TO ORWELL has inspired you to make your own journey to Jura to visit Barnhill, the house where Orwell wrote his masterpiece, "1984".

Thanks for pointing out that the link no longer connects to information for visiting Barnhill - I've corrected that now. You can email the owners - Jamie and Demaris Fletcher - at lennieston@aol.com.

All the best,
Jackie Jura
