To Orwell Today,

Thank you for all the work that you have put into your wonderful site. It is truly overwhelming how much information is there.

I just re-read 1984. I first read it in 1984 when my comp lit instructor assigned the book in high school. The same year he had us read Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, Future Shock, Lord of the Flies, and Ernest Callenbach's Ecotopia. BTW .... 3 years after I left high school I learned that that teacher and that class were expunged from the school.

Thank you for putting all this great information together on one site...I wish I had more time to go through it all...but I'll try!!

"If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear." ~ George Orwell

Bravo to you and this site!

Greetings Sean,

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic comments about "Orwell Today". I just LOVE hearing from people who can quote Orwell.

I've read all of the books you've mentioned except "Ecotopia" which just by its name sounds interesting.

It's a tragedy that your comp-lit teacher was expunged from the school system but that is all too common in our Orwellian society where exposing young minds to the truth is "thoughtcrime". But at least he planted some seeds in fertile soil - for example your mind - while he had the chance.

All the best,
Jackie Jura
