FOREIGN AFFAIRS MUSICAL CHAIRS
To Orwell Today,
Hi Jackie,
In this present climate of FEAR isn't it clever how what seems to be breaking news is actually manipulation by BIG BROTHER, purposely to control the reactions/emotions of the PROLES.
Here in the UK we have had a NEW labour government which actually is more right wing than the previous bunch controlling a so-called SOCIALIST/LABOUR administration. The people were duped into electing this NEW LABOUR or false government. The present opposition leadership is CAMERON who is a copy of BLAIR with all the same attributes and persona - a young family man who promises to have values and resolve the country's social issues and even has the same snazzy suits and hand gestures - BLAIR MARK 2. The present gov't replacement for BLAIR, Gordon Brown, is extremelly unpopular, it seems purposely to prepare the ground for CAMERON.
Yesterday in the House of Commons a new terrorist act was instated before going to the Second Chamber, by the persuasion of opposition members and was narrowly won by just 10 votes. On the same day the BBC news informed us that a civil servant had left a top secret sensitive dossier concerning Iraq, Afghanistan and AL QAIDA on a train and a member of the public had conveniently handed it over to the BBC.
To me this stinks of manipulation and too much of a coincidence. Just the kind of thing ORWELL was trying to get across to us.

Greetings Ray,
The politicians are the same here in Canada - just puppets playing musical chairs - and the media-frenzy maneuvers are totally Orwellian.
We have top-secret documents being left behind too, although instead of leaving them on a train the politician left them in the bedroom of his biker-chic, Mafia-connected girlfriend who wore a handkerchief as a dress to the ceremony appointing him (a new MP, a complete unkown) as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
For weeks the salacious details of this Canadian version of the Profuma affair were all over the news - in between the never ending, nausea inspiring coverage of the USA run-off between a woman (the rabid-feminist wife of an impeachable ex-president) and a token black candidate (playing the race-card) up against an ex-Hanoi-Hilton prisoner who co-operated with his jailers, all hoping to succeed the incumbent who's the intellectually-challenged son of a previous two-term president who was previous to that a two-term vice-president and previous to that the head of the CIA, ambassador to China, UN etc.
Also here in the Canadian contingent of the Commonwealth we have leaders of the government who weren't elected by the people - as in your Prime Minister's case - but merely handed the job when the elected incumbent quit to pursue other interests, ie promotion into the New World Order shrilling for Big Brother (United Nations).
It's all Orwellian reality control right out of "1984" - recognizable as something Winston would cook up in the Ministry of Truth as prolefeed for the proles. See also TERROR BILL IS TERROR
All the best,
Jackie Jura
PS - In all the guffawing coverage of Canada's ridiculed Minister of Foreign Affairs (make that domestic affairs) no one has pointed out that the man appointed to replace him is a turn-coat politician who switched party allegiences (went from Liberal to Conservative) after losing his provincial seat and took a federal appointment promoting trade with Communist China. Now he's the Minister of Foreign Affairs - their man in Ottawa.

The Honourable David Emerson, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Minister for the Pacific Gateway and the Vancouver-Whistler Olympics, will travel to Paris to participate in the International Conference in Support of Afghanistan taking place June 12, 2008. This conference will be an opportunity for the international community to reaffirm its commitment to Afghanistan and its people. It follows previous international conferences, including the 2006 London Conference, where the Afghanistan Compact was adopted. Ministers and representatives of 80 states and organizations will attend, including all major contributors of troops or development assistance to the United Nations, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Representatives of Afghanistan’s neighbouring states and other states in the region will also attend. Afghan president Hamid Karzai, French president Nicolas Sarkozy and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon will open the event, which will be presided over by French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner.
In a case echoing the downfall of Canada's former foreign affairs minister Maxime Bernier over his mishandling of classified NATO documents, the British government was scrambling Wednesday to find out how top-secret assessments of al-Qaida's terror network - each page stamped "for UK/US/Canadian and Australian eyes only" - were left abandoned on a London commuter train. British police investigators are already probing the secrecy violation and Opposition politicians were calling on British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to launch an inquiry into the latest in a "long line of serious breaches of security." ...British media sites lit up with news that the documents marked "UK Top Secret" were retrieved by a train passenger and later handed to BBC News security correspondent Frank Gardner. The public broadcaster reported that a senior civil servant working on intelligence issues in the U.K. government's Cabinet Office had been suspended....Bernier was forced to resign May 26 after it was revealed that he had carelessly left secret briefing documents at the Laval, Que., home of his girlfriend Julie Couillard before their breakup earlier this year.
OTTAWA - It has been said that the state has no place in the bedrooms of the nation. Tuesday, however, the nation is about to start looking very closely into one particular Montreal-area bedroom and the love affair with Julie Couillard that ended up costing former Foreign Affairs minister Maxime Bernier his cabinet post. That private relationship will be the subject of very public scrutiny when Parliament's Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security begins hearings into the security issues raised by Bernier's relationship with Couillard, her ties to Montreal's criminal underworld and how secret government documents were allowed to remain in her Laval, Que., home for several weeks....From the moment the news broke last month that Bernier's former girlfriend had ties to members of Quebec's outlaw biker gangs, the prime minister has maintained that his government has no interest in the private lives of its cabinet ministers. The opposition, however, say in this case, Bernier's private life is very much in the public interest. "They keep repeating (Pierre) Trudeau's dictum that they have no business in the bedrooms of the nation," Liberal public safety critic Ujjal Dosanjh told reporters. "But nations certainly have business in the bedrooms of the top diplomat in this country when national security is at risk." Dosanjh said his hope is that the hearings will help parliamentarians better understand the events that led to Bernier's downfall and what measures the government can take to prevent it from happening again...."My job, really, is to ensure that everything is run smoothly and this doesn't end up being some kind of a session that will make the front pages of the National Enquirer."
