To Orwell Today,

I've been interested in the works and discussions on George Orwell lately.

If you ask me the war on terror is a hoax; It's kind of when Orwell mentioned the idea of eternal war; well that's what we are possibly involved in. If a war could be used to create the idea that people were being protected, and have them live in fear, then it's alot easier for the powers that be to use an excuse to impose more control.

It's like this whole thing with the avian flu; That's just another media scare tactic to convince the people that they should be fearful; so that George Bush and the others can use the military to police the infected areas. Why do you think they want to use the military as the answer to the problem? - Can I say "Matial Law".

Your rights are going out the window. This whole thing with the patriot act - homeland security and on and on - is all nonsense. If Bin Laden was really behind 911, then where is he? George Bush doesn't even pay attention to Bin Laden. When the reporters asked George Bush about Bin Laden - his answer was - "I'm not really concerned about Bin Laden". The question is why?

Orwell would no doubt be pleased with your understanding of the war on terror being a hoax. As he said in "1984":

"The entire war is spurious and is either not happening or is being waged for purposes quite other than the declared ones." and

"The rocket bombs which fell daily on London were probably fired by the Government of Oceania itself, 'just to keep people frightened.'" and

"Even at that time Winston had not imagined that the people had actually committed the crimes that they were accused of."

Homeland Security and the Patriot Act are, as you say, set up to take away our rights. I explain it a bit in TERROR BILL IS TERROR. It's happening all over the world, in all the super-states, ie USA, USSR and CHINA. Our systems are becoming identical as they all follow Big Brother's orders, as laid out in the book by Emmanuel Goldstein entitled OLIGARCHICAL COLLECTIVISM. I refer to it as CORPORATE COMMUNISM

And you're right about the whole avian flu thing too. They've admitted to creating viruses in their labs and making money off of selling vaccines they say "protect" us. WHO's to say that what they put in those vaccines isn't the very same disease they created in that lab? See MAN-MADE FLU WEAPON and VACCINATIONS/BIO WARFARE.
