To Orwell Today,

Hello Jacky,

I just wanted to know your position on the current situation in Rwanda?

Do you still think president Kagame is a Good man?

Wanting to hear from you.

God bless,
Hiram Gahima

Greetings Hiram,

I posted my position on the current situation in Rwanda in a few recent articles which perhaps you missed. See KAGAME MISTER BIG STUFF & READER HAS RWANDA CONFUSION & HOW OR WHERE'S NKUNDA?

In answer to your other question, I thought Kagame was good for stopping the 1994 genocide in Rwanda and seemingly bringing peace and prosperity to the country.

But since Kagame arrested and imprisoned Nkunda, who was fighting Rwandan genocidaires in Congo and bringing peace and prosperity to the Kivu region of that country, I've started having doubts about Kagame's goodness.

I remember hearing Kagame say one time - in an interview - that "good people can be made to be bad and bad people can be made to be good".

He was talking about the good people in Rwanda who had become bad during the genocide but who could become good again by admitting their crimes, asking for forgiveness and then rehabilitating themselves by working and living side-by-side with those they had wronged.

And that's how I feel about Kagame now. I think he was good, but then he became bad for what he's done to Nkunda, his cause and his people.

But Kagame could become good again by admitting to his crime against Nkunda, asking for forgiveness from the Rwandan and Congolese people for taking their hero, and then freeing Nkunda and working side-by-side with him to destroy the genocidal forces once and for all in their Great Lakes Region of Africa.

All the best,
Jackie Jura

PS - Below are previous emails from April 2007 and November 2009 regarding your thoughts on Kagame and Rwanda:

Reader Hiram says Kagame and the RPF army didn't stop the genocide in Rwanda

NEUTRAL NOT RWANDA REPEAT (Jackie defends self over accusations from reader Hiram of not being neutral on Rwanda)

PRAY DON'T BE NEUTRAL (reader Pan says that Hiram, a survivor, has learnt nothing from the history of Rwanda... The 1994 genocide devastated the whole of Rwanda and inflicted indescribable damage to all Rwandans, but God knows what country Rwanda would be today if it had not been stopped. The RPA stopped the genocide when it disarmed the genocidaires it could get, and sent others and their French accomplices packing. In their Congolese jungles where they tried to raise their head for a comeback, they were neutralised, and let's hope RPA will continue to neutralise those who are still trying...)

RWANDA GENOCIDAIRE CANADA CAUGHT (... genocide survivor Hiram Gahima recognized genocidaire-suspect Jacques Mungwarere on a bus...)
