JFK RESCUER KUMANA SENDS GREETINGS
To Orwell Today,
Hello Jackie,
Check out the Aaron Kumana site. I managed to update the latest event of my grandfather at home.
Kumana Recovers from Mourning (after family built his wife's permanent burial site), May 7, 2013 (...He also thanked the USA people for requesting him on their boat for 1 or 2 days which also contributed to easing him)
Thanks,
Mala Rellysdom
Greetings Mala,
Thanks for the update on your grandfather, Aaron Kumana, the Solomon Islander who discovered JFK on the island of Naru and, through enemy-infested waters, delivered the coconut to the USA base at Rendova. See SOLOMON RESCUER KUMANA HONORS JFK
One of JFK's most cherished possessions -- and which he kept on his desk in the White House when he was president -- was the coconut he wrote the message on:
NAURO ISL
NATIVE KNOWS POSIT
HE CAN PILOT
11 ALIVE NEED SMALL BOAT
KENNEDY
The story of the rescue of JFK and the crew of PT-109 will never be forgotten. Aaron Kumana and Biuka Gasa are going down in history with JFK. See JFK SOLOMON SWIM SAVED SURVIVORS
It was JFK's 96th birthday the other day -- May 29, 1917-2013 -- fifty years after his death at age 46 -- but if it hadn't been for Kumana and Biuka he might have died at age 26 in August 1943.
So glad to hear Kumana is doing well and still carrying the torch -- and the flag -- for JFK.
All the best,
Jackie Jura
To Orwell Today,
Thanks JJ,
That's exactly what is required -- to send information all over the globe.
And the biggest thing is, THANKS FOR HELPING US.
I mentioned about your help to my grandfather. And he said, "Tell Jackie to find where is Caroline Kennedy".
Thanks,
Mala Rellysdom
Greetings again Mala,
Thanks for telling your grandfather that his story is on ORWELL TODAY again -- please print out a copy to add to the other stories about him.
There was news about Caroline Kennedy today saying that she'll be going to Ireland this month to attend 50th anniversary celebrations of her father's visit to his ancestral homeland in June 1963. I wrote a story about it the other day. See WHERE'S JFK WE HARDLY KNEW YE?
There's big excitement all over Ireland and the event will be covered worldwide -- and Caroline will be the star attraction.
For sure JFK's Irish eyes will be smiling down from heaven -- and probably crying too.
All the best,
Jackie Jura, May 2013
